His structured programs and genuine investment in student success have made him a beacon for aspiring Johnites in the U.S., known not only for his professional success but also for his unwavering generosity and accessibility.
Dr. Peter D’Sa
A respected Johnite and veteran clinician, Dr. Peter D’Sa has over 30 years of experience in gastroenterology and internal medicine. Practicing in Sylacauga, Alabama, he has built a solid reputation for excellence in diagnosing and managing complex GI disorders. Patients and peers alike admire his quiet diligence, diagnostic skill, and compassionate care. Dr. Kumar Belani
A towering figure in the world of anesthesiology, Dr. Kumar Belani—Class of 1969, St. John’s Medical College—is currently a Professor of Anesthesiology and Pediatrics at the University of Minnesota. His work has profoundly shaped pediatric anesthesia, particularly in airway management and safety protocols for children. With over 100 scientific publications and global teaching engagements, he’s not just a clinician but a visionary academic and leader. Dr. Belani has also spearheaded global health initiatives and educational collaborations across continents, ensuring that knowledge and innovation flow freely between developed and developing nations. Dr. Edward R Pinto
A 1971 Johnite graduate of St. John’s Medical College, Dr. Edward R. Pinto is a distinguished cardiologist at Bridgeport Hospital in Connecticut, with additional expertise in geriatric and internal medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency at Bridgeport Hospital, followed by fellowships in cardiovascular disease at the University of Pennsylvania and Penn State Hershey. Honored as Bridgeport Hospital’s “Physician of the Year” in 2016, he is widely respected for his clinical excellence and compassionate bedside manner. For nearly four decades, Dr. Pinto has not only delivered outstanding care but also inspired community support and giving through his leadership in the Honor Your Caregiver program. His journey from Bangalore to the forefront of American cardiology continues to motivate generations of Johnites pursuing excellence across the globe.
